Topic 1: Being A Wise Steward

Hello, For the past two weeks I have been sharing on this topic being wise stewards and faithful stewardship. It is worth reading and sharing. be blessed as you go through the article and feel free to share it with a friend, you can as well leave us a comment below.

A. Stewardship is

a. A life of systematic giving or using of time, abilities, talents and material possessions until Jesus comes. Is a lifetime goal.

b. It is a partnership between God and man with God being the providing agent.

c. It is the faithful, consistent use of that which we have been given.( Matthew 25:14-23)

d. Is fruitfulness and it unveils the invisible presence of God in a believer.

e. Stewardship requires accountability. (John 15:1-2)

f. Is the faithful use of all that we have for the advancement of the Kingdom.

g. Is giving our best. (Leviticus 22:17-33)

 

B. Stewardship lifestyle Luke 16:1-13

a. Stewardship is a lifestyle of wisdom.

b. The world uses stewardship for personal increase and security.

c. Stewardship brings servitude to God and is a foundation stone for promotion.

d. Stewardship begins where you are, not where you want to go.

e. Stewardship NOW leads to leadership LATER.

f. Stewardship and servitude are inseparable.

g. Stewardship is using what we have to express our love to God.

C. What Stewardship Does

a. Stewardship expresses discipleship to Christ.

b. Eternal life is directly connected to your stewardship today.

c. Stewardship is a declaration of Jesus’ Lordship over our lives.

d. Our stewardship has an everlasting effect on humanity and on the kingdom of God.

e. Stewardship protects the heart from returning to the world. (Matthew 6:19-24)

f. Stewards are aware of having been given something for purpose.(Deuteronomy 8:11-18)

g. Stewardship is an expression of your obedience and consecration to the gospel of Jesus.

 

D. Five Things Required of a Steward

a. A steward must be found faithful. (1 Corinthians 4:1-2)

b. A steward must be teachable. (Psalms 27:11)

c. A steward must desire to serve others through gifts. (Romans 12:10-13; 1 Peter 4:10)

d. A steward must have a servant’s heart for the promotion of the kingdom of God.  (Galatians 5:13; Philippians 1:19-20)

e. A steward must have a willingness to give.

 

E. Why Stewardship?

a. Good stewardship is not just for your life, but also for the future and generations to come.

Malachi 3:10, Genesis 41:38-44, Genesis 47

b. Your stewardship today will make room for your generations tomorrow.
