Ask yourself: What is revealed about God / Jesus in these Scriptures? What does it mean and How do we live by this truth about God / Jesus?
Some thoughts to help us understand and live by this truth about God / Jesus
God’s essence of “I AM” determines absolutely everything in God’s realm. In God’s domain – in God’s reality – God IS. In God’s realm of “I AM”, the following always applies: God himself IS Everything, His Being determines everything. God is who He IS. God does what He IS. God brings what He IS. God requires what He IS. God establishes what He IS. God only accepts what He IS. God exclusively operates by what He IS. These are principal revelations about our “I AM” God which we need to have sufficiently revealed to us by the Holy Spirit. If not, then we are in acute danger of totally missing God’s Being and HIS divine doing in our lives.
We simply have to know the meaning and application of God being “I AM”. From God’s side it always and in every case is “I AM”. From our side it always and in every case is “God IS our…”. The Holy Spirit needs to teach us to rightly put ‘God himself IS’ before anything and everything of God.
Only once we rightly know the meaning and application of ‘God IS’, then will we be ready to live by ‘God IS our…’. Living by God IS our IS! Living by God’s Being is our Being. God himself IS everything of heaven, His kingdom, and of us. Here are a few examples of how ‘God himself IS’ applies to our living by Christ IS our All in all:
God IS – God himself is our being.
God is Savior – God self is our salvation.
God is Life – God self is our Life and living.
God is Truth – God self is our truth.
God is Righteous – God himself is our righteousness.
God is All-wise – God self is our wisdom.
God is All able – God himself is our ability.
God is Peace – God self is our peace.
God is Holy – God self is our holiness.
God is the Way – God himself is our way in every way.
God is Love – God self is our love and loving.
God is the Living Word – God self is our Word living.
We could place every attribute, action, and asking of God under the reality of “God IS… – God IS our…”. Holy Spirit please teach us and train us to think, talk and act in line with the holiness, grace and glory of Christ IS our All in all!
God existed and exists all by Himself from eternity to eternity. God is self-existent. God is what He is by Himself. God always was, is and will be what He IS. In order for God to be what He is, God also has to work what He is… God solely and exclusively works by what He IS. To ensure that God’s doing conforms perfectly to God’s Being, God has to work all in HIS love, all in HIS sovereignty, all in HIS holiness and in HIS self-sufficiency. To ensure the preservation, prevailing and correct presentation of God’s Being, God has to work all. God himself has to work all of His will and Word to ensure that it fits with His Being. The great “I AM who I AM” God does not need anything or anyone. God does not need any input or contribution from anyone. In fact, our own inputs and contributions are what soil and spoil Christianity! Our full inclusion in HIS Being and in HIS doing happens at the absolute exclusion of our own flesh-being and flesh-doing. The beauty of our crucifixion with Christ is that through it God took us from flesh-being and flesh-doing to all of HIS Being and to all of HIS doing!
By way of us having been put in Christ and Christ having come to reside in us, we have received absolutely everything God IS! Wow! Hallelujah! If we would truly live by ‘God IS – God IS our…’, then we would see God self in Person and in action in our daily living. Why do we refuse to live by the “I AM” God? Why do we want an “I give/make you” God? Probably because of the sinful, selfish flesh. “I AM” leaves no room for the flesh! The sinful self wants a god who “gives ME”, “makes ME”, “improves ME”, “prospers ME”, “uses ME”. But this is contrary to the Biblical “I AM” God. When we do not know God as the “I AM” God, then we tend to pridefully imagine that we ourselves can have, be, or do something of God apart from God self. As a result we remain in the religious trap of trying to ‘Christianize’ our flesh. How much of Christian religion is based on us trying to serve God through the flesh, us trying to consecrate and disciple our sinful self? In complete contrast, living as God’s children is all about living by God himself. True Christianity is living by God self. Ever living by ‘not I, but Christ’, as established through our co-crucifixion with Christ. Living by faith is to live by God himself IS our Life! Living by who our Father IS, and what He himself establishes and works through His Spirit. Living by the Holy Spirit is none other than living from, through and to God self.
God brings and works Himself, because He IS the Great “I AM WHO I AM”. When we received God himself in Christ Jesus, we received all of God himself IS our Being, having, doing and saying! Now we need to live by the God who Himself IS our new Life and our new divine living. When we received Jesus himself IS our Life, we received every spiritual blessing there can be had in heaven and on earth (John 1:16,11:25,14:6; Ephesians 1:2-14). What more do we desire apart from God himself? What more do we require apart from God self? To live by grace through faith in obedience is to live by God himself IS all and works all. To live by the Holy Spirit is to live by God himself IS!
Our mission today is still the same as that of Moses:
(1) To intimately know the God who Himself IS – the overwhelming “I AM WHO I AM” God; and
(2) To tell the people that “I AM” has made a way for our deliverance: From the slavery of sin, self, law and world – to the promise land of having God’s IS as our IS. Having God’s Being as our Being! Christ IS the Way to receiving God himself as our new Being. Jesus IS the Way to achieving God self as our new living. We are delivered to having God himself IS our being and living through Christ’s crucifixion, and our crucifixion with Him (Galatians 2:20, 6:14-16; Romans 6:6-8; Ephesians 1:3-8).
Our crucifixion with Christ is the spiritual Jordan River through which we cross into the Canaan of living in the “I AM” land of God himself Being and working all. Through the cross God delivered us from our enslavement to sin, self, law and world – to the only true salvation of God himself IS:
God himself is our salvation (Isaiah 12:2; John 11:25; Exodus 15:2; Psalm 62:2,6). God himself is our Eternal Life (Deuteronomy 30:20; John 1:4, 14:6; 1 John 5:11-12, 20).
God himself is our holiness, righteousness and redemption (1 Corinthians 1:30; Jeremiah 33:15-16).
God himself is our Godliness and Godly living (Colossians 3:4; Philippians 1:20-21; 2 Peter 1:2-4).
God himself is our glorification and glory (Isaiah 60:19; Colossians 1:27; Romans 8:29-30).
God himself is our All and in all (Colossians 3:11; 2 Corinthians 1:20, 18-22; Revelations 1:8, 22:13).Eternal praise to our “I AM” God for Himself having become our Life and our living through Christ!
By grace through faith God himself IS our IS. God self is our Being. God self is our believing. God self is our doing. God self is our living. God himself is our proclaiming. God himself IS our all. God himself is our heaven, also for now. Indescribable, incredible, infinite wonder of our “I AM” God!
